The Learning Experience Children’s Centre was established in 1982 in the Oxford Heights area of Port Coquitlam, providing preschool for a growing community. In 1989 the centre was expanded to provide before-and-after school-aged childcare for those enrolled at Ecole Irvine Elementary School. In 1997, the centre was relocated to our present site on the northeast corner of the Irvine School property. In 2022, we expanded into the newly built school, adding 48 spots for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students of Ecole Irvine, as well as providing space to expand our preschool to include an Introductory French Program.

Child Care Subsidy and Opportunities for Staff
We participate in the B.C. Government’s Child Care Fee Reduction initiative for children in Group Care, Preschool, and School Age Care (30 months through to grade 5) and the Wage Enhancement Program. All staff members are actively supported in their professional growth with ongoing professional development opportunities.
